In the Nick of Time Moving is committed to getting your belongings from here to there
on time, without breakage or damage. Brawn is handy, but our crews are also trained to THINK. And we have some impressive equipment available to make it all seem effortless.
You can help your move go smoothly by putting these 9 tips to good use:
You can repurpose materials you need to move anyway as padding, such as kitchen towels, T-shirts and other soft items.
This helps your movers efficiently stack and organize them.
Yes, putting them in plastic totes counts. The fewer miscellaneous items you have out (lamps, CD players, etc.) the smoother your move will go.
Your movers will place the boxes in your desired location without having to ask you where they belong, and you’ll not have to move them from room to room.
Color code them with brightly colored tape or sticky notes under packing tape
to show which items go to which location.
Want to impress your moving crew? Stage most or all your boxes in an easily accessible area like the garage, living room or wide-open areas.
A sturdy zip-lock plastic bag labelled in permanent marker, one per bed or furniture piece, works well. You want to know exactly where those things are when it’s time to put your bed and furniture back together!
Unhook any appliances or electronics and get them ready for the move.
Remove all breakable and spillable items from drawers and cabinets.
It also helps to remove clothing and other non-breakable items from dressers and cabinets, making those objects lighter and easier for your movers to carry.
As the world adjusts to the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19), first and foremost, we are being guided by the recommendations of the CDC, WHO and other leading health organizations. We continue to monitor these changes and adapt accordingly. We are applying these recommendations to our team members around the US who power our network. As such, we have taken a variety of actions, including:
How can I be sure that Nick of Time employees I interact with have not been infected with COVID-19?
We are closely monitoring guidance by the CDC, WHO and other public health organizations, and taking recommended precautions in terms of team member and customer health and safety.
Please note that our employees are not permitted to sign individual health or travel questionnaires. We believe the measures we’re taking to promote good hygiene and to encourage employees to not come to work if they’re sick are in line with guidance from the CDC and WHO.
Additionally, the WHO has declared COVID-19 as a pandemic. Community spread is now a concern so travel to specific locations is not the primary determining factor of potential exposure. As such, we will not be releasing any employee’s travel history.
